Volunteerism
This course offers a unique educational experience which provides students with the opportunity to understand how their community works by developing an awareness of “volunteerism.” Students must volunteer 50 hours of unpaid service outside the regular school day to an organization from a list of nonprofit community agencies and service organizations. If the student takes the course for a second time, they are required to volunteer 75 hours. And if it is the third time a student is in the course the volunteer hour requirement is 100 hours. Students may select a listed agency to meet individual needs or interests. This course may be repeated.
