Launch hosts Chartering ceremony for its FFA chapter, the first Virtual FFA Chapter in Missouri

Launch Virtual Learning tackled another first this morning--the program hosted a chartering ceremony for its FFA chapter, the first virtual FFA chapter in the state of Missouri.
"Over the last few years, Launch has developed several virtual Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), including FFA, in conjunction with the creation of our Launch Missouri’s Workforce courses,” says Launch Director Dr. Nichole Lemmon. “We’re proud that we are able to give students statewide these opportunities virtually. This chapter in particular is a reflection of our commitment to leveraging technology to expand access to agricultural education.”
Launch’s virtual FFA chapter was created in 2023 with a main goal of giving students the opportunity to connect with peers and mentors from around the state, pursue their passions in agriculture, and build valuable skills that will serve them well in any future career. The chapter features a range of both virtual and in-person programs and initiatives designed to foster leadership, personal growth, and career success in agriculture.
Several notable speakers shared remarks at the Launch FFA chartering ceremony, which was hosted at the Springfield Public Schools Professional and Virtual Learning Center and also broadcasted and viewed online. “Our organization promotes premier leadership, personal growth and career success,” said Kristina Callison, Launch’s FFA Advisor. “When I look at our members, I see future veterinarians, food scientists, agronomists, drone pilots, park rangers and more. FFA will provide so many opportunities for our current members and members to come.”
