“Even though everything is online, Launch still allows for that one-on-one time between teachers and students.”—Bethany Laws

Launch Business Teacher Bethany Laws values the time she spends working one-on-one with students.
Spending more than six years in post-secondary education helped Bethany Laws discover her true passion: spending one-to-one time with students. “I was an academic advisor and retention specialist at Missouri State University before I began teaching for Launch,” Laws says. “I taught per-course at MSU, too, but it was working with students individually that I really enjoyed. I think that plays a huge role in a kid’s life.”
As Launch’s full-time Business teacher, Laws still finds herself working one-on-one with students, but her setting has changed from one of Missouri’s largest universities to five high school buildings in Springfield. Laws also conducts a great percentage of her meetings online, as her daily routine as a full-time Launch instructor includes engaging with students all across the state. “Even though everything is online, Launch still allows for that one-on-one time between teachers and students,” Laws says. “There’s a flexibility there, both for us teachers and for the students. I love the flexibility that it gives students.”
