In summer 2019, Launch opened offices in St. Louis and Kansas City to better support area partner districts and students.

While many for-profit companies aim to provide school districts with online courses, Launch strives for more. We don’t simply want to be an online provider—we want to work together as partners. And what is the difference between a provider and a partner? To us, it includes much more than simply providing quality online courses. It’s about meeting administrators and students in their own buildings. It’s about working with other school districts to build courses that can be offered to all Missouri school district partners. It’s about providing boots-on-the-ground service that results in the absolute best customer support, face-to-face meetings and regular building visits.

As we’ve grown over the past two years, we have worked to continue providing these things statewide, and we’re not stopping any time soon. That’s why we’ve expanded and opened offices in both St. Louis and Kansas City.

Launch St. Louis
Launch Support Specialist Missy Sandbothe is a familiar face at the Launch St. Louis office. “I am recently retired from the Kirkwood School District, where I spent 15 years as a building level administrator and 2 years as the Executive Director of Special Programs,” Missy says. “I had the good fortune of being introduced to Launch a couple years ago, and I quickly became a huge fan of the quality of course content, the rigor expected of our students and the ability to customize implementation.” Missy works with school districts in St. Louis and the surrounding areas to provide an array of Launch services and support.

Launch Kansas City
Shannon Gilliland, the Launch Support Specialist in the Kansas City region, has been a full-time online teacher and mentor with the North Kansas City School district for 12 years. During this time, she not only instructed her online courses—she also worked with seniors to explore what they may want to do after school through individualized internships and work experiences. Shannon believes in the power of online learning as a way for students to have opportunities they may not be able to access through traditional means. She works with schools in Kansas City and the surrounding areas to provide services and support.
