Core Learning Options

Traditional Virtual Courses
Traditional Virtual courses are designed for students earning credit in a course for the first time. Students may take a single course or build a full-time virtual schedule, depending on district approval and student need.
These courses include teacher support, assignments, discussions, and clear expectations for progress. Students earn a letter grade and percentage, and many courses require a proctored final exam conducted through web conferencing.
Launch Live
Launch also offers live-supported course options for students who benefit from more real-time instruction and a more structured weekly rhythm.
Live courses include required live lessons during the week and are available in selected high school graduation courses. Students enrolled in live sections are expected to attend regularly and stay engaged in scheduled instruction.
Flexible Paths Toward Graduation

Credit Recovery
Credit Recovery is for students who previously took a course but did not earn credit.
These courses are built around priority standards and assessed with 80% mastery. Students may begin at different points during the school year, and the courses do not follow a traditional due-date structure.
Credit Acquisition
Credit Acquisition is for students who have not yet taken a course but need a more flexible path to completion.
Teachers establish focus assignments to help students build the most important skills needed for future coursework. Students begin at 0% and work toward 60% to pass.
Options for Students Ready for More Challenge

Honors
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement courses help students prepare for AP exams while engaging with college-level material in high school.
Note: AP exams are scheduled through the student’s assigned high school. Launch does not schedule, administer, or pay for AP exams.
Dual Credit
Dual Credit courses allow students to earn college credit while also completing high school credit. Launch offers dual credit opportunities through Missouri university partners, and many courses are CORE 42 approved.
Students and families should review prerequisites, GPA requirements, grade-level expectations, transferability, and university deadlines before enrolling. Launch offers dual credit in 9-week and 18-week sessions.
Career and Future-Ready Pathways

Launch Missouri’s Workforce
Launch Missouri’s Workforce gives high school students access to career pathway courses aligned to their areas of interest, with opportunities to work toward industry-recognized credentials.
This option is designed for students who want coursework that connects more directly to future careers, real-world opportunities, and postsecondary planning.
Project Lead the Way
Project Lead the Way gives students opportunities to engage in applied, future-focused coursework that emphasizes problem solving, innovation, and hands-on thinking across high-interest fields.
For students who want a more design-minded, technical, or project-based academic experience, PLTW can be an important part of a high school pathway.
